Take a Walk Through Time

Our exhibits not only showcase life in Pictou County and the surrounding area, but also provide a window into what life was like across Canada during that time period. Immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of a simpler time, and let your imagination run wild as you explore the rich history.

Our expert staff will guide you through the exhibits, sharing fascinating stories and insights into the history of the area. From the ingenuity of early rural homesteading to the resilience of farming communities, our exhibits provide a unique perspective on our past.

If you have a passion for early rural homesteading, farming, and community life, then the Museum is a must-visit destination. Don't miss your chance to step back in time and explore the rich history of our ancestors. With so much to see and discover, you'll leave with a newfound appreciation for the hard work and dedication of those who came before us.

We also host Special Demo Days at the Museum throughout our open season such as Cream Day and Wool Day where we offer interactive activities. Contact us to learn more.

Meet the Owners

Mary and Allan Fraser followed their dream to open a museum where they could display and share the history of their community and surrounding areas with others in 2018 after purchasing the former Scotsburn Dairy building.

The 10,000 sq ft museum displays include the large horse drawn farm machinery as well as many hand tools used for farming, gardening and blacksmithing, a general store, doctor's buggy, grandma's kitchen and so much more.

Visitors are surprised and delighted to see how many artifacts there are and how well they are displayed. There is literally something to interest everyone.
